The first person to set foot on the moon was Neil Armstrong on July 20, 1969. He was the commander of the Apollo 11 mission, which was the first crewed mission to land on the moon.
Armstrong’s first words on the moon were, “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”
